EU TACSO 3 is organising an on-line, three half-day Information Activism and Data Collection/Data Management Follow-Up Networking Event for civil society organisations (CSOs) in Turkey, with the purpose of supporting CSOs in the process of their data collection and data management strategies.

Information Activism and Data Collection/Data Management Follow-up Networking Event is envisaged to provide space for experience sharing as well as mutual learning about different methodologies adopted by CSOs regarding data collection and data management. In this respect, follow-up networking event is designed as a platform for sharing practices of CSOs on:

  • Data literacy and data collection;
  • Different monitoring and mapping strategies;
  • Evidence-based advocacy and reporting;
  • Challenges and lessons-learnt in conducting rights-based research;
  • Data collection and monitoring as a method of working.

Information Activism and Data Collection/Data Management Follow-up Networking Event will be organised between 25-27 November 2020, 3hrs sessions for each day , between 10:00-13:30hrs (Turkey time).

Interested CSOs should apply by filling in and submitting the application form. The deadline for application is Wednesday, 18 November, 17:00hrs (Turkey time). Application form

 Apart from the CSOs who will participate to main sessions of the first 2 days of the follow-up networking event to engage with keynote speakers, the event will enable a space for parallel workshops to be organised by CSOs on the last day of the event, Friday, 27 November, between 12:00-13:30hrs (Turkey time). CSOs who would like to organise a workshop and share their experiences and different methods on data collection/data management can apply by filling in and submitting the application form. The Information Activism and Data Collection/Data Management Follow-up Networking Event will be conducted on-line, in Turkish language.

The number of selected CSOs for the event will be limited (up to approximately 70) to enable ample space for engagement with keynote speakers and participants themselves. Each CSO participating to the event is expected to assign one representative per organization only.

The selection will be made by EU TACSO 3 based on the following criteria:

  • CSOs who express intention to adopt an organisational strategy on information activism, data collection and data management;
  • Regional distribution;
  • Thematic area distribution;
  • Gender equality
