OBJECTIVE 

Last year, the EU TACSO 3 project established a CSO Governance Community of Practice (CoP). The CoP gathered twice online and once at a live regional capacity-building event.

The learning brief and resource materials produced to date are available in the TACSO library.

The upcoming event scheduled for 6 – 7 March 2024 in Skopje, North Macedonia will gather representatives of governing body members of CSOs from the region to discuss the current findings on CSO governance in the region, to network, and to propose inputs for designing the ad-hoc research on the CSO governance practices in the WBT.

The workshop will gather around 25 participants and will be facilitated by EU TACSO 3 experts. A follow-up brief will be produced to inform the CSO Governance Community of Practice and further research and training activities.

The following key topics will be explored:
– Strategic oversight – setting strategic direction and monitoring progress
– Oversight of the executive – management performance, and policy implementation
– Board member recruitment, development and performance
– Other issues as proposed by participants

METHOD

Interested participants – CSO governing board members should apply by filling in and submitting the Application form by  Monday, 19 February 2024, 15:00hrs CET.

Participants will be selected based on the following selection criteria:
– Active board or assembly member (active participation in governing activities, i.e. strategic planning, fundraising, supervision of the executive team etc.)
– Minimum of 3 years of experience as a board/assembly member of a CSO or CSO network from the Western Balkans and Türkiye region (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Türkiye)
– Geographical representation
– Sector and target group representation
– Gender balance will also be considered in the selection of the participants.

The travel and accommodation costs of selected participants will be covered by the EU TACSO 3 project. Refreshments and meals will be provided during the event.

The selected participants will be informed about the status of their application by Friday, 23 February 2024.
