In the framework of the EU-funded Technical Assistance to Civil Society Organisations in Western Balkans and Turkey (EU TACSO 3) project, we are pleased to invite you to participate in the P2P on-line event on “The Role of Civil Society Organisations in Corporate Social Responsibility” that will be held on-line on Tuesday, 09 November 2021.
The event seeks to explore the potential interest for partnerships between CSOs and the private sector, and it has four specific objectives:
- Provide a space for discussion on CSR and the role of CSOs in the process;
- Provide space for CSOs and the private sector to discuss challenges behind potential partnerships for CSR;
- Discuss and reflect on the actual capacities of CSOs to get engaged in the CSR implementation;
- Learn from best practices in the region and broader.
It will address questions whether such partnerships are genuinely considered useful in the Kosovo* context, i.e. why/if these forms of cross-sectorial cooperation can be beneficial for Kosovo society. The topic will be further elaborated on whether such partnerships produce specific results in terms of ensuring inclusion and social benefit. It will also explore the best practices from the region and the European Union’s member states. Examples of good cooperation will be provided to give ideas to local CSOs on potential future cooperation.
The event will include keynote speakers from the CSOs, private sector and donor community who support social dialogue and will consist of three panels: (i) EU Priorities and spectrum of areas for cooperation between CSOs and businesses and overview of CSR in Kosovo; (ii) Partnerships between CSOs and the private sector and (iii) Best practices of partnerships between CSOs and businesses. Examples and best practices will be explored from countries that have already developed a framework for CSR and set an example for cooperation with CSOs.
The Special Guest Speakers will be Representative of CSR Europe, the leading European business network for Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility.
The event is planned to be organised as a half-day meeting which will bring together on-line over 30 CSO’s, the private sector, donors, governments representatives.
