2023 EU Year of Skills – Non-Profit Management

OBJECTIVE

The primary goal of this event is to bring together stakeholders from the non-profit sector, education, and government, both from the region and the EU. Our objectives are to:

  1. Promote cooperation and collaboration among actors, countries, and regions.
  2. Identify opportunities and promote initiatives to incorporate and expand the formal recognition of non-profit skills in National Qualifications Frameworks.
  3. Maximize the utilization of Erasmus+ funding for innovation in non-profit education.
  4. Foster partnerships between academic institutions and non-profit organizations.
  5. Encourage public authorities to invest more significantly in promoting the non-profit sector.

The European Year of Skills 2023

This event is particularly significant as it aligns with the European Year of Skills in 2023, emphasising the critical importance of skills development and recognition in the non-profit sector. In the European Union, the non-profit sector employs over 13% of the workforce, but in the Western Balkans and Turkey, figures are much lower. However, as these regions aspire to join the EU, investing in essential skills for non-profit management is crucial for sector growth and management.

METHOD

This event is aimed at civil society organisations who are providing skills development opportunities for people working in the non-profit sector or who would like to work in the sector. CSOs who are active in their National Qualifications Frameworks and who are promoting recognition of formal and non-formal learning are especially welcome.”

The event will be conducted live and online via Zoom. It will feature expert panel discussions, presentations, and interactive sessions. The proposed objectives will guide the discussions, allowing participants to share their experiences, insights, and recommendations. The event will encourage audience participation through Q&A sessions, allowing attendees to engage with panellists directly.
