EU TACSO 3 is organising P2P Exchange Event under the title: “Active Citizenship, Citizen Initiatives and Volunteerism” for civil society organisations (CSOs) in Turkey to create basis for CSOs working  in various thematic areas to discuss  conducive legal framework for volunteerism and practices as well as different volunteer management and orientation mechanisms.

The event will take place in three half-day sessions and will bring together more than 50 CSOs from Turkey who work with volunteers in various thematic areas. The event will produce a Conclusion report, which will compile the discussions held during the event as well as recommendations for improving of conducive legal framework for volunteerism in Turkey. The three half-day event will cover topic such the conceptual framework of volunteerism and introduce good examples of conducive legal environment for volunteerism in Turkey. Moreover, the event will include good examples from at least three other countries who have already developed a legal framework for volunteerism and CSOs from various thematic areas who have their own volunteer management and orientation mechanism. The event will consist of both panel sessions and parallel workshops enabling discussion and exchange of experience.

The main objectives of the event are:

• Provide a space for experience sharing on volunteerism as well as different volunteer management and orientation mechanisms;
• Discuss existing legal frameworks, ethical codes and code of conducts on volunteerism;
• Give floor to CSOs to discuss obstacles behind volunteerism and existing volunteer management and orientation mechanisms developed by different CSOs;
• To discuss how a legal framework for volunteerism in Turkey should look like and what might be the opportunities and limits of drawing a legal framework for volunteerism.

The three half-day event on active citizenship, civic initiatives and volunteerism will be conducted on-line. The event will be held in Turkish language or translation will be provided.

The event is dedicated to various CSOs including: volunteer-based CSOs and/or CSOs working with volunteers; citizen initiatives; community-based organisations; recently established networks etc..

Three half-day meeting on active citizenship, civic initiatives and volunteerism will be organised between 23-25 June, 2021 between 10:00 – 13:30hrs (Turkish time) for each day. The event aims to bring together more than 50 CSOs from Turkey who work with volunteers and from various thematic areas. The deadline for application is Friday, 18 June, 2021 Application form

Interested CSOs should apply by filling-in and submitting the application form via EU TACSO 3 CRM system (through online application forms provided in links above). Each CSO can assign one representative to participate to the event.

The selection will be made by EU TACSO 3 based on the following criteria:

• Regional distribution
• Thematic area distribution
• Gender equality
• Volunteer based CSOs and/or CSOs working with volunteers
